How many sessions will I need?
There is no minimum or maximum amount of sessions. It will depend on your specific needs and how you are feeling. You will not be tied into a contract for a set number of sessions.

How long is each session?
Each session is 60 minutes long.

How often are the sessions?
Therapy is most beneficial when undertaken on a weekly basis, on the same day, and at the same time. Some flexibility is possible if for example, you work shifts.

What if therapy isn't for me?
You may realise after we start working together that therapy is not for you due to a variety of reasons. If you do wish to end therapy it will be helpful to discuss the reasons, and work together to find a suitable time to stop.

How much will it cost & how do I pay?
Each session costs £55 which will be payable before the start of the session. I accept cash, bank transfers and card payments.

Will you be talking to other people about our sessions?
Whatever we discuss together is confidential, however, there are exceptions to this where I am obligated to breach confidentiality if you, or someone else, is at risk of serious injury, or serious criminal offence. Should I feel circumstances are such that I need to break confidentiality, I will always aim to discuss this with you first.

There may be other occasions where we agree, with your consent, that sharing information with other healthcare professionals will benefit your wellbeing.
Every counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is required to attend regular confidential supervision with a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist. This is to allow me to reflect on how I work, to support the sustainability and resilience of the work being undertaken, to ensure I keep my skills up to date, and that I work in a safe and ethical way.

What do I do if I need to cancel a session or if I miss one?
I require a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to cancel a session. Sessions will still be charged if failing to notify in advance, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Is your counselling room wheelchair accessible?
My room is on the ground floor, with all doorways of standard width, which may accommodate your needs. I can provide support to the room from the car park if needed.

Is there space to park?
There is onsite parking and free parking at various free car parks within a 5 minute walk.
